How often should I have lessons?

A 30 minute, weekly lesson if sufficient for most learners.  If you require a different setup we can discuss your individual needs and I will do my best to accommodate your requirements.

Do you teach (insert age here) year olds?

Yes! Well probably... The best age to learn piano is an age where you have enough time to practice and enjoy the learning process.  For adults it is worth thinking that if you are having a 30 minute lesson each week then you might find 30 minutes practice most days in-between will be very useful for making progress. 
For children it depends on maturity but most 7 year old and older children are fine with the concentration and communication needed for piano lessons.  To encourage their enjoyment of practice and playing I'd be happy to give some advice based on my knowledge and experience as needed :)
For children younger than 7 it will be best to have a chat and possibly a trial lesson or two to help me get to know them and help us all make the best decision about whether lessons are a good idea at this point.

Can I reschedule a lesson if I can't make it?

Yes, you can reschedule a lesson if you give at least one weeks' notice. Please contact me to arrange a new time.
(please note in the case of illness on the day please give as much notice as you can)

What do I need for online lessons?

You will need:
- An instrument to play on (keyboard or piano)
- A device that can run the Zoom application (free account)
- A good internet connection that can support video calls

Ideally you might prefer (optional ideas):
- A bigger screen is better for your viewing
- A way of pointing a camera at your piano
- A separate microphone for better audio clarity

Do you help students prepare for ABRSM exams?

Yes, I have extensive experience in preparing students for ABRSM exams, including the latest Performance exams that can be submitted via video recordings from home.
